Bridge Projects
Wetzel Road bridge project before and after. Feasby Wisener Road bridge project before and after.

Two bridges have been opened to traffic according to Kyle J. Wendel, Van Wert County Engineer. One is located on Wetzel Road approximately ½ mile east of US 127, while the other is located on Feasby Wisener Road between John Yoh and Hoaglin Center Roads. Both bridges were constructed using Federal funds, and were built by Jutte Excavating Company from Fort Recovery, Ohio. They were built concurrently beginning in early September, and completed earlier this week. Both bridges were designed in house, and were inspected by Kohli & Kaliher, consulting engineers from Lima, Ohio, with the nspection being paid for using Federal dollars.

The old bridges were steel truss structures set on concrete abutments and provided for single lane traffic only. The new structures are prestressed concrete box beams placed on concrete abutments with corrugated steel guard rail. Both structures provide 28’ of width between rails.
